As a translator Jack Yan has 43 years of Chinese Martial Arts training experience of which 21 years are in Tai Chi.  He is an in-chamber disciple of Grand Master Chen Zhenglei and Phd. student of Professor Qiu Pixiang of Shanghai University of Sport.  He has a master's degree in English, a master's degree in political science and is a Phd. candidate majoring in traditional Chinese sports – Wushu.
